A home that played an extremely vital role in my life
growing up was my Grandma Rita’s home. When I was in kindergarten my mom and
dad worked quite a bit and I needed somewhere to go when I left school
everyday, so I was always at Rita’s. To be honest, we never did anything
exciting with our afternoons together. Growing up my Grandpa Ray and Grandma
Rita had thirteen children, so my Grandma’s billfold was not overflowing in the
slightest. However, she made every single day as much fun as she possibly could.
We would play card, color pictures, and even though she probably hated it,
watch Blue’s Clues. I remember going to school and the only moments that I
would look forward to was the few minutes before the end of the day when the
bell would ring and I would get to see Rita. Nowadays’, Rita is close to eighty
years old and still caring for her grandchildren and she once did for me. I
have drifted from my grandmother since my younger years, but I will NEVER forget
all the moments that I have been so lucky to share with her, in her tiny,
perfect home.
