My First Attempt

Hi there,
My name is Lori and this is my first attempt at becoming a "blogger." I'm a college student who loves the wide world of everything that holds relation to the arts. I enjoy singing, acting, listening to music, drinking coffee, and watching movies. My favorite genre of music is without a doubt the indy scene. I've always been drawn to songs that are full of colorful words and interesting instrumental sounds. I find that most indy songs contain both of these aspects. As far as movies go, I love anything that makes me think. I'm a big fan of Hitchcock's films and his use of monumental camera angles. All in all, I am not your everyday girl. I have a mind of my own and an eye for finding beauty in the most unlikely of places. Feel free to get to know me, I think I'm pretty neat!

I found a blog that is completely centered around the genre of indy music. Initially this blog drew me in by displaying a wide variety of coming-of-age indy artists. In the most recent posting on this blog there was a list of songs that served the soul purpose of bringing you joy when you are going through a rough patch in life, or just experiencing a bad day. The genre of this blog should be viewed in a personal way. The posts are often times centered around how certain indy songs can relate to certain aspects of your life. The purpose of this blog is to expose the world to the specific indy genre. Personally, I think the intended audience of this blog is the younger generation of music lovers in the world. The language that this blog uses is pretty modern and has a youthful feel to it. Identifying the stance of this blog was not an easy task. The day-to-day format of entries is not consistent. I would say that the general tone of the blog is one of a positive manner. Most of the time the entries are centered around the beauty and wonder of indy music. The media of this blog is strictly electronic. The word that I would use to describe the design of this blog is simplistic. The background is plain and white and the font is a very standard color and size. I like the simplicity of the blog, because it forces you to focus more on the music rather than the colors of the blog.
